Growing up, Zoo Tycoon 2 was one of my favorite games in the world and having gone back to play it recently it's still a lot of fun. I know that Blue Fang doesn't exist anymore. For a while there was a string of zoo games from different developers, none of which were ever very good as far as I know. At the moment it is only sold as physical copies which are no longer manufactured and I see very little chance of it ever reaching digital distribution. Is it possible that the IP could be picked up by another developer or that something similar to a proper sequel would ever be made by another company?Zoo Tycoon is just one of many great games of the past that for whatever reason look like they will soon be gone and forgotten more or less for good. What games from your past are dying away that you'd like to see revived?. With Frontier Developments actively working on Elite Dangerous, they also mentioned that they are in the works for another tycoon game.So if there is to be another Zoo Tycoon game, I don't think it will be until after 2016 at least, since Frontier is a relatively small development team (compared to others)But Zoo Tycoon was great. Another example on how tycoon games can be done right.
May 25, 2008 - Supposedly, you put an herbivore in with a penguin. An herbivore is any animal that eats plants and vegetation, not meat. After a fight, all.
Will be great if they revive it on today's hardware. They always pushed the boundaries with their Tycoon games. RCT2 was known for using shaders that were only used by certain graphics cards, which at the time were very expensive. Although now they are affordable, I would expect that their new Coaster Park Tycoon game will be using cutting edge technologies, and the same will go for Zoo Tycoon if they ever decide to bring it back.
